Some Things? Never Change!

The Husband traveled to the west coast last week to help his mother move. Well, actually, she's not moving until this weekend, but she needed a ton of help sifting through over 50 years of... er... stuff. (It was a lot of stuff.) The Husband spent quite a bit of those five days shredding old documents that rested inside 15 - count 'em, y'all, FIFTEEN - boxes. The boxes mostly contained a lot of nothing, like credit card bills dating back to the late eighties, but there were a few gems.

Like the Husband's kindergarten report card, which included this note from his teacher.

Fourth Quarter: Tonggu Daddy's work habits have
improved, but his listening skills leave much to be
desired. It seems hard for him to obey rules.

Some things? Never change.

Heh.

That is funny! You would never see that now - it would be "softened".

Is it bad that all I can concentrate on is his height? My daughter is the peanut of her class, at just under 42 inches. :) I hope TD had a growth spurt soon! :) I should burn my old report cards that always said I talked too much. Imagine THAT! :)

It's hilarious! I am not sure a teacher could get away with saying that these days!

That resembles my report cards all through elementary:) I went to a private Episcopal school and there was a little box and beside it were the words "self control". There was always an "x" in that box and each year a teacher would write something like, "Kimberley needs to stop talking and giggling in class" ha ha

Now that is hilarious! But I think we both know that we teachers aren't allowed to be truly "honest" in our report card comments anymore!

That same report card circa 2011 would say, "TD has made steady gains in his work habits this year. We will continue to support TD's efforts to improve his listening skills and create opportunities for him to become more successful at following classroom routines."

How funny is that!!!

My parents actually just brought me a folder two weeks ago with all of my report cards in it.... Nick was quick to grab it from my Mom so he could see it....and of course hold "the areas that I need to improve" over my head:)

Thinking of you all..... gosh, it is getting CLOSE..... SO EXCITING!!!

Lisa
