Guess...

I'm not ignoring, y'all, I promise. I'm just EXHAUSTED because I can't sleep. I feel so absolutely anxious that I've not been sleeping more than three hours at a stretch since Friday. And now it's just gonna get worse, y'all, because Janet? Janet had a DREAM.

Had a dream that you got your referral and were referred a
4-year old boy AND an 8-month old baby girl! Get ready!! :)

Oh. My. Lands.

Now I'm really not gonna sleep. You'd think after almost five years of waiting that I'd be used to this now, but these last few weeks have felt the most challenging. Help distract me y'all. Gender, age, province.

Let the guessing begin...

I say first of all, that I'd love to see you with three just out of the blue. lol. I think that would be divine. :)

I'm guessing she's from the same province as Tongginator and is 23 months old.

Sorry about all of this, apparently I'm projecting today....

Grammy says 10 months now, Jiangxi. I'm sure it's a girl.

I'm right there with you on the crazy dreams. Since we don't have the official referral of Joseph's brother and it's taken so very long since we said yes, I keep imagining a surprise ending.

Enough about me... I guess same province as T, girl and 13 months.

Sorry to contribute to your sleep issues!

I'm going to guess same province as my girl -- Guangdong and 13 months!

Hunan, 10 months.
And lots of hair!!
BRING. IT. ON.

TM....you are too funny. I remember having those same sort of dreams leading up to our referral for Kate! Can't wait to hear the news!

my guess is:
Jiangxi....perhaps even Tonggu! :)
10 1/2 months
Girl

Well I have to go with Jiangxi, and let's say 14 mos! and she'll be beautiful of course.

Patricia/NYC said...

A Hubei Honey...(I'm partial!)...11 months...and absolutely GORGEOUS!! :)

Mark said...

I have to go with a Hubei Honey too : ) (honestly the smart guess is Jiangxi or Guangdong though) and I will say girl 17 months old. Of course I do love a little brother for your girl too. I know it would be a shock (lived that a few years back) but such a blessing too!

A Shaanxi sweetie, (I'm partial to those!) about 11.5 months old at referral, and a girl. Dumpling thighs and dumpling cheeks, just right for Momma to nibble on :)

What do we win if we're right? Or the "most" right? :)

@ would be amazing!

But I'm guessing girl, 14 months, Hunan.

Holly said...

Hmmmm....Jiangxi, 11 months, GIRL of course and STUNNINGLY Beautiful and a polar opposite personality of the Tongginator! :)

Carrie said...

Anhui, boy (gotta shake things up!!), 16 months.

Sarah said...

Girl (although boy would shake up the Tonggu house). Under 2.

Carla said...

Jiangxi - Girl - 12 months at referral, 14 months when you travel. I'm going with "from Tonggu County SWI" ;) but laid back and developmentally more on target.

My 2nd guess is - Jiangxi - Girl - 10 months....from another SWI in Jiangxi

then if those guesses don't pan out, I'm really hoping for turns 2 in May, from Nanning SWI in Guangxi province and looks exactly like my youngest so I can provide you with updates from her foster care as we've been sponsoring her.....

For fun I think: Twins, 15 months, Hunan.

Aus said...

OK what the heck - I'll play!

Yangchun city Guangdong province - I'm seeing 18 months - and I really hope - boy!

hugs - aus and co.

Cedar said...

Why not twins? One girl and one boy. Better you than me!

Mamatini said...

Wow, lots of guesses for Jiangxi. Did you request the same province?

I'm going to guess Shaanxi, to be different, and then you'll end up with the same balance as we have. 11 month at referral and a girl.

(My stomach knots up everytime I go to your blog to 'see what's new!')

I think the shock of a boy would be really "fun", but since you've been talking about a little sister for a LONG time, I won't wish that on you. Although boys are REALLY awesome, so I hope you'll consider going back a 3rd time! :) Okay, my guess is a 9 month old girl from Jiangxi. It sure was perfect for us! :) Oh, all this talk is getting me sooooo excited!! Maybe next week??? :)

Suzy said...

She's the sweetest 8 month old in Hunan. Can't WAIT to see the pictures of the back of her head ; )

Briana's Mom said...

I'll say that she will be 10 months old. I'm thinking she will be a Jiangxi gal, but it would be so neat if she were a Chongqing cutie like Bri. :D

Kristi said...

Girl, 9 months, Xinjiang (so we can be in province together of course ;).

And I had dreams myself of getting a referral for a little boy back in the day. Two years later I did get a referral for a little boy who had been born within a few days of that dream...

hmmm....

You are entitled I suppose to anticipation and expectation of the arrival of this next little one.

But...but? Seems to me you have lost sight of some of the broader strokes of adoption loss and balance you so like to "enlighten" others with:

Playing games with this? Guessing like a lottery to distract you?

Hmph! I smell a bit of a hypocrite and I know I'm not the only one! Just maybe the only one to call you out.

My guess is this: you will continue to riddle this blog with posts all about YOU and YOUR wait and YOUR turn....for oh, a few months, then will return to the oft times high handed posts of before reminding AP's to do better and tow that line that so clearly you don't ever cross unless its to share a funny anecdote or the error of your previous ways. :(

Hang in there.

Boy, 23 months, Guangdong

The Source said...

Wait...are there parameters? I mean is there an age cut-off? Cause I don't know.

I'm guessing Hubei, boy, and 22 months??

Did I do it right?

Sharie said...

I'm thinking boy, but I'm always wrong.

So, I say girl- 7 months- Sichuan

Sichuan b/c that is where my oldest niece who currently lives very near to you, is moving on June 1. I think that would just be a crazy coincidence.

Annie said...

Aw, TM!!!! I am so sorry you are feeling so anxious! I know these last few weeks had to have been the longest! I don't know why, but "boy" never crossed my mind! So I am thinking girl!

Larissa said...

TM,

my guess is a beutiful child who will bring a lot of happiness to your family!

And whoever says you don`t care about what adoptees think/feel have never read your blog.

So happy for you right now!

Love,

Larissa.

A Jiangxi sweetie with a birthday of April 17, 2010! :)

Sitting on pins and needles with you guys!!!

Tonggu Grammy said...

Anonymous, you are pretty bold with your accusatory statements and yet not certain enough of yourself to even post your first name. Hmmmm!

Why don't you just keep your venomous comments to yourself? I, for one, would prefer not to read them!

Rachel said...

Anonymous . . . Personally I think there is nothing wrong with Tonggu Mama sharing her excitement and anticipation on this blog. Yes, adoption is made up of loss and a lot of really hard stuff. But, there are also some good things there and it's ok to look forward to those good things. Please don't think that by having a little fun during the wait, TM is forgetting the loss and heartache that are part of adoption. When she has her child home she will help that child work through it and from what she posts on the blog I think TM is one of the best people for that job. Sometimes life sends you situations where you have to laugh or else you'll cry. TM has decided to laugh and she's given her readers the chance to grin along with her.

girl, 7 months old, Jiangxi province

Wow, Anonymous (funny that you won't even post using your "real" blogger identity -- a little ashamed of yourself, are you?) that was really harsh.

TM is excited about her impending referral, it really is a big thing. And what is the harm of having her friends guess about things like age, gender and province -- don't bio parents do the same thing when awaiting the arrival of a new baby (only usually it's gender/date/pounds/inches).

I really think you owe TM an apology for being nasty. Only this time, why don't you come out of the closet and apologize using your own name, and not hiding behind the title of "anonymous" -- that's cowardly, don't you think?
