Random Thoughts by TM

Brought to you by the temperature 101. As in the temperature I have right now.

Our new pastor looks, moves and even talks a bit like Eli Loker. And if you know who that is, you are my new best friend.

I have a huge bruise on my forehead right now. And I have that huge bruise because I... well, y'all, I can't even really explain it. Basically I tried to get into my car and I forgot to duck. Which doesn't sound even remotely plausible unless you know my sensory-self very well.

Our social worker is stopping by this morning for our final home study update visit. Good thing she knows my sensory-self well. Because otherwise I'd have to explain the entirely-unbelievable-yet-it-really-did-happen "I walked into a car" story, which most people think is code for "my husband hits me." But he doesn't. Hit me, I mean. I really DO walk into cars. And doors. And fall up stairs. *sigh*

I made Pioneer Woman's homemade chicken pot pie last night. Oh! my! lands! did it taste scrumptious. A perfect near-anecdote for the flu-like crud I have at the moment.

Yesterday afternoon the Tongginator asked me, "Momma, when we get home with my mei mei, can we adopt another sister?" I told her we needed to worry about this next adoption before we contemplated a third.

The Infamous Girl Scout Cookies were delivered last night. Can you tell I am thrilled?

The other day I was in the car of a friend when she drove through the drive-through of a fast food restaurant. And my friend? She told the drive-through cashier that she wanted her order "to go." (Sit with that for a minute.)

My husband is currently going through another security clearance thingy. (I know, I know. Thingy is such a professional word, isn't it?) During this process, he must declare any and all associations with foreign nationals and/or friends and family born outside of the United States. When asked about our Tongginator, my husband wryly replied, "well, you know, she's just six, so I don't think she has any political allegiances. The most she's done is memorize the US Pledge of Allegiance."

Now it's your turn. Share a Random Thought. I dare ya.

Not so random, but I've been wondering. Do you set your blog to post at Midnight Pacific Time or are you up at 3:00a.m.?

I napped from 7:45-8:25 p.m. so now I'm up late. Thanks for giving me something to read!

I hate insomnia.

If there were ever a cheese olympics, Gouda would win.

I'm going to the mountains tomorrow (today? I am not certain).

My children look unbelievably cute with crewcuts.

Random enough for you?

As newlyweds, we moved way far far far away for DH to attend tech school. We rented a very tiny mobile home from a woman who previously used it to raise kids. As in baby goats. We collected pennies to buy hot dogs. We shared the trailer with a schoolmate to pay the rent. We gladly moved back after school was done!

I started dating my DH while I was dating a man to whom I was going to become engaged to later that year. He's now gay. (That was...15 years ago.)

I have a pinched nerve in my neck/shoulder blade area that makes it impossible to hold my head like a normal person today.

I've been wondering how the heck to start my morning since my stomach won't let me drink coffee anymore.
Do I try tea? Or does my stomach thinks all hot drinks are yucky? Hmmmmm......

Sorry to hear you're sick again, woman! 101? That's like 107 to a kid... man, I haven't run a fever like that in forever! Hope you and your bruise are all better soon :)

Random thoughts:
The sheets have probably been on the bed more than a week and I should strip the bed.

Does the Tongginator want a Christmas vest to match her cousins?

This back and forth with the outdoor temperature is NOT making me happy.

You probably conked the car because your mother once put the tip of a looooong circus pencil up under her eyelid and had to go to the doctor to have the tip removed from above her eyeball. Unfortunately, the superintendent of schools from the entire county was in the room to observe this accidental feat and she knew your grandmother. Humiliation runs in the family!

Before you criticize someone you should walk a mile in their shoes - that way when you criticize them you are a mile away AND have their shoes!

Todays random thought was brought to you by the letter F and the numbers 1 and 0 - which add up to a febrile induced ramble with a temp of 101! ;)

hugs - aus and co.

This is totally random and OT. When husbands wash their fishing tackle/hooks/lures in the kitchen sink...make sure you check BEFORE you turn on the garbage disposal...otherwise it WILL wreck the garbage disposal...leaving you with a yucky, slow drain...while you wait for eternity for said husband to replace the garbage disposal....

Oh my gosh, the thing about the drive thru meal "to go" cracked me up. I bet she's not the first person to say that either.

So you want a random thought eh? I'll have to go with the first thing that sprang into my boring little mind and that was, "I wonder how much money is left on my Metro card and will I have to refill it?"

That's all I got.

What kind of Girl Scout cookies did you get?

My kid has to dress up as a community helper for preschool today (you know, because it's Halloween, but a Christian preschool). So he told me he had a compromise for me. He is going to be Dr. Firefighter. That's as random as I can get considering I need to get him dressed....like 10 minutes ago.

Feel better TM!

When Andrew had his security clearance updated he had to declare Little Miss as a "foreign national" living in his house....

Your pastor is cute!? Is that uncomfortable?

My random thought...What does Cotton Eye Joe have to do with Zumba? 'Cause that's one of the songs we danced to yesterday, and I learned, that while I may be able to shake my booty, I ain't got no hillbilly in me.

Random thought for the day:

There are way to many dishes in the sink...it's only 10:14am...how did that happen?

FEEL BETTER, my friend!!!!

When we first got our daughter she had a big forehead. My grandma said she would be smart. She was right. But big skulls mean that this mama often went to the store and church with black eyes and fat lips because one year olds are unpredictable with their head movements when you are tickling them. My reflexes weren't fast enough. And no, my husband did not hit me either. ;-)

oooh...security clearances and declaring your children?! LOL Then, I think, what about those guides we met...or is it only if you stayed in contact with them? What if your agency rep is Chinese and working here? Hmmm....

and Girl Scout cookies?! Really? Ours isn't until January. Just in time to ruin diet plans. LOL

My random thought:
Hubby is taking us out to lunch today. I wonder where we're going?

My related story:
MJ asked me a few months ago, "When M gets big, can we get another baby?"

Feel better soon!!!

I completely understand the hitting the head on the car - I do that all.the.time.

GS cookies - in October?!?

I really enjoyed these random thoughts from everyone - I needed the smile.

Now for my random thoughts:
I have a coax cable strung across my LR floor b/c hanging it is a two person job. I miss my kids. The weather is nice today. I think I need a nap.

Feel better soon! Being sick is no fun!

car is in the shop...don't care if its expensive as long as its not oil that is leaking and a engine block problem...cars not paid off

I have a teen I would ship off at a moments notice if anyone would take her for a month.

I need a nap.

Random thought....My feet are cold. And when my feet are cold, my whole body feels cold. And it's only the beginning of winter.

Another thought.....my daughter has no voice today and I am actually enjoying it. :-)

I know who Eli Lokker is. He is adorable. And I love that show.

Hope you feel better soon....we did the whole ER thing with the kids last week, was very emabrrassing. I had a huge fat lip with major bruising because DD hit me with a hairbrush and said daughter had a huge bruise on her cheek well, because of her limb difference and walking...I could see the questions in their eyes but not a word was said to either of us...hmmm

What's with GS cookies at this time of year? If you have any extras, please send Thin Mints! :)

Mmmm...thin mints. I hope you have thin mints.

I'm enjoying posting comments more often now that I'm out from under the crushing weight of over 100 posts piled up in my feedreader. But i'm current now. Woohoo!

I'm also enjoying being able to see the floor of the family room.

I've never really had a family room before and I'm excited about this.

I'm worried aobut our new lawn. Is it supposed to be yellow from too much rain? Should I plant rice?

Randomness is fun.

How can I make the next 8 days zoom by (we leave for China next Friday)

Can I get my report cards written and handed in on time?

Why do my cats twitch in their sleep? Are they dreaming of catching mice? How is this possible if they have never seen a mouse before?

Why do I have the lyrics for "I am a pizza" running non stop through my head?

If I took my daughter to the pumpkin patch twice last year, do I have to take her this year? It's a VERY BAD idea to spill bleach on leather. I need to bring the peace lily inside tonight b/c it's going to get cold. I still don't know what my daughter is going to be for Halloween, but every idea I have seems to call for tall black boots she doesn't have. Those are all the random thoughts I have right now.

From one klutz to another, let's just say I feel your pain. What is sad - Briana is about as klutzy as I am.

Doug had security clearance when he was at a former job. That was before we had Briana.

And you want a random thought, huh? I'm craving the Halloween Oreos we have in the pantry right now.

Random thought:
my fingertips are all burned off now thanks to my hot glue gun and 8 Halloween costumes

Hope you feel better! We're battling the crud too.

How about a story?

about 10 years ago I was messing with the boys. It was their bedtime and I was jumping on their bed, making faces at Big T who could see me from our room. When I jumped off to kiss them goodnight I tripped and slammed my cheek/eye/chin the door jam. Yes, it was painful (very) but I didn't want to scare the boys so I went into our bedroom and silently cried. So not funny, right? I had just started my new job at the college and it was our anniversary. I didn't really know anyone at work yet so imagine the looks from people when I left for the day (the day after "the fall") with a vase full of beautiful red roses...and a swollen black and blue face! Oh yeah.....

I once arrived at the drive thru window and was waiting for my food - only to learn that I hadn't stopped at the speaker to order...Yep had a lot on my mind that day.

My first Friday night homework free and Amelia's at her first slumber party. I'm wondering when I'm going to be called to pick her up.

I have 2 weeks of laundry, 8 weeks of cleaning, and a month of blogging to catch up on, but can't get my butt off the couch.

Why does our new puppy go potty outside and then come right back in the house and go on the floor?

When we lived in Texas, every night before I would come to bed I would stump my toe on the same part of the bed and Greg would say,"Sorry honey...I moved the bed"

Praying you are feeling better soon:)

Unfortunately, I know entirely too well how plausible forgetting to duck really is. I do it getting in and out of the car. I also fall up the stairs, run into doors, crack my elbow on the corner banister while running down the stairs(oh my god, that hurt for like 2 days). Hello TM Sensory Self, my name is Jaimie - I also have an incredibly accident prone sensory self.

I LOVE Eli Loker. Bil and I watch "Lie to Me" every week, no fail. And don't tell Bil, but I have a tiny crush on Eli, so I don't know how you concentrate at church!
