Her Favorite Things

A little school assignment I thought y'all might enjoy...

I'd like to take this opportunity to announce to one and all that the Tongginator wants a puppy. I mean, she REALLY wants a puppy, y'all. Unfortunately, five of our Evil Neighbors recently added puppies to their families. And by recently I mean within the past six months. *sigh* Sometimes it stinks having a momma who has asthma. Tongginator, we can't get a puppy. Sorry, girlfriend.

Momma needs to breathe.

In other Random Thoughts, I'm wondering what fairy tails look like. Do you think they are made of gossamer? Or perhaps they are silk? I'm sure the Tongginator wouldn't care about specifics, as long as they look fancy.

And I must confess I gasped with dismay when reading that her favorite sport remains bowling... I just might have to disown her for that thought. I DO, however, take great pride in the thought that she thinks math is easy. I am convinced she believes said untruth because I banned the notorious "Math class is tough" Teen Talk Barbie I remember from my youth. Do you remember her? She also spouted off with nonsense such as "party dresses are fun!" Which isn't exactly a lie, since party dresses are technically fun. But the under-wire, and the hose, and the heels, and the spanks... well... they ain't fun, ladies, now are they?

And as for her favorite activity of catching butterflies, here's proof that the Tongginator actually does catch butterflies from our butterfly bush. Look closely at the net.

The Butterfly. Catching butterflies. It doesn't get much better than that. Especially on your half-birthday. Yes, y'all, today is the day the Tongginator has been waiting for all! summer! long! She's finally six-and-a-half. And what an important half it is.

Food network. LOVE it!
And the former math teacher in me is pleased to see another budding mathemetician!
So tell, do you guys have any fun "half-birthday" celebrations? Next week we get to go out for donuts TWO nights in a row as "the baby" turns 3 1/2 on Thursday and "the big girl" turns 4 1/2 on Friday.

Happy half birthday! I completely understand the "dog" thing. Everyday Emma has been begging for a dog. She's even been emailing me pictures of dogs she has picked out from the humane society.

Happy half birthday T!

Now TM - 1) poodles are as hypoallergenic as you get - come and visit and play with ours and you can see how you feel! and 2) While you are playing with the puppy - I'll take T into the back yard to clean up after the big dog - and once she knows that's her job I bet she doesn't want a puppy any more! I'm just offerin'!

Hugs - know your pain! - aus and co.

Aus - my husband would disagree with you that poodles are actual dogs. *grin*

The Food Network cracked me up too - she is so wise beyond her years!!

We have a cavachon - they are supposedly low dander (I doubt anything is actually DANDR-FREE) - but she doesn't shed at all? & she's NOT a poodle :)

LOL! Fairytails are DEFINITELY of the finest silk dyed in a rainbow of colours with sequins - hand stitched, of course.

Dog chatter has started at our house too. At this point it is just chatter and according to Daddy it has to be full fledged begging – two years of begging – before we get a dog. And key word is DOG, as in a rescue dog – no puppies allowed (that one is probably more me than Daddy – since I’d be the one doing the house training – ha!). And rescue dog because my husband will not pay for someone to breed more dogs, but doesn’t mind making a donation to help care for other abandoned or abused dogs. Blah blah blah… the list of criteria goes on and on… so maybe once the chattering turns into begging we’ll be able to hold our own against the begging – for a while anyway. I’m thinking, it might be easier to be able to say “I’m allergic. I’m sorry.”

Woohoo! 6 and a HALF!!!!

Love these kinds of school assignments...you never know what they are going to say. :-) Happy half-birthday to the Tongginator!

As for the puppy, I've heard it mentioned by our oldest a couple of times, but it really isn't possible for us in our current house. She's just going to have to be happy with the cats for now. Thankfully, she is still at the "mentioning it in passing" stage.

Happy 6 and half years!!!

I think you need to tell her that the puppy can't come before her new sister. That will at least buy you some time:)

Loved reading her favorite things.....she is too cute!

Happy Holiday Weekend~

Happy 6 and 1/2 birthday, Miss T!!! (And yes, that 1/2 is very important.)

Volunteer to dog sit (at their home) for someone with a very high maintenance dog. The hard work. Walking, scooping you know what, feeding, grooming. For several days. The urge will pass, I promise.

Be blessed!

About the puppy...maybe you should read little Miss T my blog! Just type pet ownership into the search engine. That ought to change her mind in a heartbeat! Even if you didn't have asthma...it would definitely cast aside any crazy ideas you might have about getting a dog. (Seriously, though...I do adore my pups).

Happy 1/2 birthday. I loved celebrating mine when I was a kid. My mom always made a big deal over it.

But MATH is easy...it's all black and white, this is the answer PERIOD, and oh so logical. *heart felt I love Math sigh*

Yeah, I hold a BS degree in Math. My poor kids, a Mom and a Dad who both found Math easy and now when they say it's too hard...bwaaaa haaa haaaa....

but catching butterflies?! I LOVE it. :)

Oh yes...everyone here in Latin America has a dog!!! Matter of fact...when we go down to the market which is so much fun...there are puppies being sold everywhere! Heaven only knows where they came from! lol I will say that I have terrible asthma and we had a maltese and he never shed and I never had a problem...he even slept in our bed:) If I can find one, I will get the girls one of those because Emma has asthma too!

She looks like a natural butterfly catcher!!!! You need to take her to Costa Rica to see hundreds of beautiful blue butterflies:)

While I can appreciate the asthma "excuse" for not getting a puppy (wink wink)...they now make some very nifty designer dogs that one can have even if they have asthma. Our oldest son is EXTREMELY allergic and has BAD asthma....but alas Scout is a schnoodle and about the cutest dog evah! In fact...you can see her on a video on our blog right now. Or look under the Scout labels n our blog. She has not caused one single allergic or asthmatic reaction AND she has not shed even one hair AND she is VERY smart and sweet and never chewed anything!!!

I'm just sayin......

I have lots of allergy problems, and the worst of my problems are cats and dogs. My husband is a dog kinda guy. Three years after we married, he started really missing having a dog. I researched different kinds of dogs, and decided to see if I could tolerate a shih tzu. I spent some time at someone's house that had two shih tzu's and had no problems. I've had a shih tzu in my life for six years now and have had no allergy problems with her. I love the breed because they're small and they don't shed. One does have to either brush them daily or keep their coat trimmed because they keep growing hair like people do. Sedona's hair is kept short and she goes to the groomer every 6 weeks just like I have a hair cut every 6 weeks.

And... shih tzu's are CHINESE! :)

I get severely reprimanded if I say my son is 6 because he is, after all, six and a half....

I would agree with Sarah about the Shih tzu, they are a great breed - I LOVE them. However, my nephew has asthma and he couldn't come to our house when I had them or he'd have an attack. They had one when he was little and as his asthma grew worse as he got older. I do think there is something to say about constant exposure to an allergen making the allergy worse.
I am a HUGE dog person and although the cat is growing on me and is much better suited to our life, there is nothing like having a dog curl up next to your feet as you blog away:)

Happy half! BB just turned 3 1/2. We had a bash, but I didn't take any pics and am waiting until those who did get them to me to post anything about the bash.

Happy 1/2 Birthday! Love the butterfly picture!

My husband is allergic to dander and also has asthma. He is extremely allergic to cats. However, We had a kerry blue terrier for almost 9 years. He now wants to get a giant schnauzer puppy.... yeah... he's crazy... but we are dog people... so I will oblige his wish for a puppy.. hehehe...

Math is easy in first grade. And there's nothing unusual about someone who finds it easy all the time. It's just pattern recognition.

What's a shame is that so many girls are afraid to excel in math because of what other people might think. I was one of only four (FOUR!!) girls in my advanced algebra class in 10th grade, and I never talked about it to my friends. The next year, I dropped out of advanced trig. Guess why. I'd beat myself up over that boneheaded decision, but my peers made the same mistake sooner than me, and they're still making it today.

Sweet girl. I love that picture with the butterfly. Be very glad you have an excuse not to get a puppy.
