Lifebook Giveaway

Guess who we saw this weekend?

The Tongginator with her China Cousin RedFish, and
RedFish's
much adored sisters: BlueFish and TwoFish

Which means I am way too tired to amuse y'all today. But I am not too tired to share a great deal with you. Kristen at My Story Lifebooks is offering a giveaway on her blog. Now y'all know how passionate I am about encouraging others to create lifebooks for their adopted children. When she emailed me, I couldn't wait to read more.

And when she offered a giveaway over HERE as well, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to share it with all y'all.

Kristen offers lifebook templates for use with Shutterfly at My Story Lifebooks. Customers provide Kristen with some details about their child and the desired color scheme so that she can partially customize the child's lifebook. She then sends them a link to the template so that they can save the newly created lifebook template to their own Shutterfly account. Customers can then add photographs and additional text before ordering their book via Shutterfly (the photo book must be ordered separately from Shutterfly, as it is not included in the template package).

If you don't yet have a lifebook for your child, leave a comment here and you may be the lucky winner! You can also head over to Kristen's site and leave a comment there... her giveaway will end July 31st, while this giveaway will end on Wednesday, July 28th.

Best of luck to y'all!

Uhm, I'm not trying to be a contender, but I just had to comment.

There are still tons of entries (you do love to chat ;)) I haven't read, so when I clicked and was referred to "Talking Adoption" I was thrilled!! You know it's a topic near and dear to my heart and I COMPLETELY agree, you can never start too early! It's just a matter of using age appropriate language.

I think it's so true that it's so often the parents who are not ready and it scares them, so they hide behind the young age of the child. But it's like you said, "if a child has lived it, then a child should be able to talk about it".

I really commend you for educating yourself on this and changing your ways to benefit the Tongginator. You're not too proud to say, that WAS me. Now I know better, so I do better. And hopefully others will benefit from your experience. It's so important.

Thank you for a great post!

I sure could use it for The Princess. The Queen has several versions of her lifebook (toddler, older child, etc.) I have been sadly remiss in not getting The Princess' lifebook together.

I just spent some time on her website and I will definitely use this for my son's life book. We are awaiting travel approval any day now - so we expect to travel in 4-6 weeks. I love that she has thought through how to communicate some of the hard parts of the adoption story. I also am impressed that she has a template for waiting children. Our son is 7 and so many adoption gift items are created with infants and toddlers in mind. Sure hope I win, but even if I don't I think we'll be making a purchase! Thanks for the info on such a great site.

I am so behind. I haven't even finished the writing for my son's (home 2.5 years) and now I have my dd's (home 8 months) and I guess I should be starting the next one's too (yet to be announced!, but hopefully home next year).

Regardless of whether or not I win, I'm heading to her site! Thanks for the link!

I love it when other people make things easier. I have scrapped all the monthly updates we received from the orphanage, but I need to start a lifebook that chronicles their story from birth.

If there's ever been a giveaway I needed to win, this is probably it. OTOH, if I don't win, I at least know where to shop now. Thanks TM.

This is at the top of my list when I finish my MBA only 13 weeks to go:)
I love digital as all of my photos are digital, except of course the photos from China which I printed with the full intention of scrapbooking them - I did get them in a photo album and Amelia loves to look at it. I know she would adore a life book.

I would love to win -- I've just talked with my daughter this weekend about making a lifebook together since she's now got all sorts of questions about her birthfamily.

This is what I need to get started...I am wanting it to be perfect instead of just doing it!

I accepted a referral last month for a little boy waiting for me in ET. This is the perfect time for me to start on a lifebook.
Please sign me up!

So my second two came rather quickly and while I'm wrapping up dear child number one's lifebook, I could really use some help working on number two and number three!

First, I am ashamed to admit I have not created a lifebook for Lottie or Emma....sooooo I would love some help with one of them!!!!! It has always seemed so overwhelming to me to begin to create.

I could give myself hives just thinking about doing a lifebook..and yet I have two girls who NEED one each. sigh. I just get intimidated by all the scrapbookiness and I run and hide.

I am disgusted with myself that I still haven't done a lifebook, so I am entering. And don't you feel bad about the thank you note btw. That was my bad, entirely:)
