Movin' On, Movin' Across

It's a rainy Friday today, so the Tongginator and I are probably going to snuggle in together on the couch and watch some movies. No school yesterday and today due to kindergarten conferences, which means a glorious five! day! weekend!, y'all.

And yes, we already sat through the Tongginator's conference. (More about that next week.) Although school doesn't finish for another three weeks or so, we now know the Tongginator made it through kindergarten and will be a Big Kid First-Grader all too soon. Which begs the question: why does she still have to attend three more weeks of school if we already know the outcome? I'm just saying...

In other news, guess what the Tongginator learned to do last week?

And yeah... enough about the flip flops. Totally didn't notice THOSE until I was editing the photographs. As you can see, we are all about playground safety here at Tonggu House.

But she made it across, y'all. She made! it! across! Kinda a big deal for a little one who didn't learn to walk until she was almost 19 months old. I love you, Tongginator! Look how far you've come!

Enjoy your super long weekend. Is there a chance gymnastics is in the Tongginator's future? hee hee.

I am well and truely impressed - I know a great many adults (men and women) who couldn't do that - my how she's grown! Way to go kid - way to go!

Way to go, Tongginator! I am seriously impressed - I never mastered the monkey bars in school (or anything that required arm strength, actually), and could probably only do it now because I've managed to build up some decent muscles through hauling children around all day!

What is it with kids and the monkey bars? there is NO WAY i could do them, but those kids will spend WEEKS working at them until they are all the way across! upper body strength I do not have (i tried...i did ONE)!!

And as a fellow flip flop lover, I say who cares about safety!! :-)

Way to go! Monkey bars are tough. Enjoy your long weekend!

Um, there's something wrong with flip flops on the playground?
You go Tongginator, those are really high monkey bars!
There is a really low set (Kylie's feet are only about 12 inches off the ground) at our favorite park and Kylie figured them out on Wednesday. I dread her wanting to do the really high ones!

Congratulations to the Tongginator! Yeah!!!!

Yeah!!! Good for you Tongginator!!
This is something that Shea is trying to accomplish...she still has a long way to go!!!

Three weeks of school?? Really???
Is it because of all the snow days y'all had this past winter?

Way to go, Tongginator! I am in awe because I never could do the monkey bars:)

That's impressive upper body strength for anyone! I'm tellin' ya - gymnastics and cheer are in her future. And with cheer, it's definitely all about the clothes, and the hair, and the makeup - right up Miss T's proverbial alley! LOL

Yee haw!!!!
Whatever she gets, usually Spud gets about 4 months later. Biking, swiming pumping herself on the swings, etc, So Miss T you have given me great hope!
Way to go girly!!!

Yea! Congratulations, Miss T, for Monkey Bars and First Grade! Woo-Hoo!

My DD learned the monkey bars in the past couple of weeks, too. Our babies have lots in common. (Sensory stuff, not walking for forever, among other things.) And my DD wears shoes that were hand-me-downs and 3 sizes too big when she goes across--over rocky back yard, no good grass like you have.

How cute.

You already know the outcome...so why 3 more weeks? Wow! I ask myself that question all the time! Can't we just be done now? We're done on June 24th. And that means one hot, sticky classroom and 22 very hot, sticky, pretty unmotivated kids in my classroom!

Whoo Hoo!! Way to go, Tongginator!!
This IS a big deal!!! Kiara is thisclosetomasteringit too...she's got calluses all over her palms to prove it! lol!

So hard to believe our girls will be FIRST GRADERS in the fall!! yikes!

Very cool! I can't believe you still have 3 more weeks of school!!

Are you kidding about playground safety? Look at all that nice green grass underfoot! :)
We have 3 more weeks of school too. That's cuz we get out early--most French schools go another 5 weeks. But the "arret des notes" (end of the grading period) is in 2 weeks. You'd think the last week would be parties but you would be wrong.

Woo hoo! She`ll have really toned arms in no time. :)

Playground safety? What's that? Not in my backyard.....we do the best we can but....

Got you beat on school. Today was our LAST day! Well, I have to work next week but the kids are out. =)

WOW!!! Two things to celebrate...monkey bars and first grade!!! Congratulations!

Very good Miss T!! You must have been curling your toes to keep your flips on...

At gymnastics last week Little T was on bars. She had to hang there and then slide her hands so she could move down the bar. The teacher had to lift her up to it (other kids just jumped up!). The first time she just slipped back off, but the next time? She did it!

Our girls are so much stronger than we think...

Hugs,
Carla

Wow! That takes a whole bunch of upper body strength and coordination! My kids aren't able to do that one yet!

Yay Tongginator!!!!

But....watch that girl like a hawk!! And tell her not to try anything fancy like skipping a bar! That is how Ahnalin fell and shattered her arm last summer. It hasn't slowed her down, but monkey bars make me so nervous now.
And make sure she does not go on the monkey bars when they are wet, or her hands are wet. Be careful, ok?

Way to go on the monkey bars Tongginator!

Wait until next year when she learns how to sit on top and climb across the monkey bars from the bigger kids at school!

Way to go T!!! That takes insane arm strength.

By the way, nothing at all wrong with flip flops according to all the girls at our house. Sweaty feet or ugly footwear, wow now *those* are terribly dangerous and must be avoided at all costs. Heh.

Rock on, Miss T. Rock on.

And flip flops are ALWAYS appropriate. Unless you're at the White House. Apparently. ;-)

awesome! I bought my kids flip flops last weekend. First ones. I'm already regretting it. I said, "these are for the beach. Quick trips into the yard. and camping." And yet that's all they've been wearing, in spite of torrential rain and all that.

And, I am soooo ready for school to be done. But my students are here until 6/18! :(
