Sunday Linkage: Chinese New Year Crafts

This week I'm doing double duty: two Sunday Linkages, both focused on the Chinese New Year holiday. This one focuses on links to recipes, crafts and other fun activities related to Chinese New Year. I hope y'all enjoy the links! And you still have one week to get ready -- the holiday begins next Sunday and lasts for two weeks.

Year of the Tiger: CNY Craft Activities -- adoptive momma (China) Kim K. at Musings from Kim K... photos and links to many tiger craft ideas (be sure to also check out an oldie, but goodie from Kim: Recycle your glass jars and make CNY lanterns!)

A Chinese New Year Feast Fit for a Tiger -- guest post by Lisa Barnes of Petit Appetit at make and takes... healthy recipes for Long Life Noodles, Beef-Filled Lettuce Cups, Tangerine or Blood Orange Granita and Ginger Soda

Asian New Year Craft: Tiger Lanterns -- adult adoptee (Korea) Mama King at 4 Crazy Kings... give a paper lantern a tiger twist

Fortune Cookies for Valentines and Chinese New Year -- crafty blogger Cindy Hopper (and aunt to two nieces from China) at the group blog Alpha Mom... a fortune cookie photo tutorial and recipe

Chopstick Math for Chinese New Year
-- writer and former kindergarten teacher Tina Cho at Education.com... using chopsticks to develop fine motor skills and practice counting

2010 Chinese New Year in Washington, DC -- guide Rachel Cooper at About.com... for the few locals out there who read Our Little Tongginator: this year's Chinese New Year activities in and around the DC area

Chinese New Year Fish -- Canadian living in Taiwan Julie at Julie K. in Taiwan... a cute fish craft (the Mandarin word for fish, 鱼 yu2, sounds similar to the Mandarin word for abundance, 裕 yu4, so whole fish is a necessary Chinese New Years Eve dish)

Countdown to the New Year -- an on-line game from PBS Kids, courtesy of the show Sagwa: The Chinese Siamese Cat

Celebrate Chinese New Year with Ni Hao, Kai-Lan
-- blogger Asian Mommy at Asianmommy.com... links to a dozen Kai-Lan activities related to Chinese New Year

Chinese New Year: Chinese Tiger Hand Drum Craft -- blogger crazymommy at The Lazy Stay-at-Home Mommy... directions on how to make a peddler drum with a tiger face

Oh, thank you so much! We're hosting an "international dinner" on the opening night of the Olympics and I've been wondering what to make or do for favors to wrap CNY into the mix - these are fabulous...

Girl, you keep this up and you might just elevate yourself to blogger crush status :)
