Don't Have a Heart Attack, But...

I seriously AM posting on a Saturday. For! the! second! time! Yes, y'all, my internet connection is spotty at best (so don't expect any emails from yours truly) and the phones have been in and out all day, but I just HAD to share some photos of the largest snowstorm I've ever personally lived through.

And I totally have a snowstorm story to share on Monday. But right now I'm too darn tired...

Anyways, I must confess that I ate my words today, calling Ring to beg him for the use of his snow blower. Being the most amazing man ever, he graciously allowed us to borrow his Wonder Machine, with just a teeny bit of teasing on the side. (Isn't he wonderful, y'all? And remember... he's thinking about possibly maybe starting to perhaps consider dating again.) The husband worked on the driveway and sidewalks, but I promise I kept busy, too, with my own special little project. Which I'll explain - in detail - on Monday.

It snowed for over 24 hours straight. We ended up with a heck of a lot of snow, with drifts in the oh! my! lands! category. You think I jest...

we think a little less than three feet dumped on our town,
but it's hard to tell with all of the snow drifts

the pathway the husband created just
to get to Ring's snow blower

snow drifts almost as high as my shoulders in some places

the Tongginator's play set: notice how you can't see the first
rung of the monkey bars, which sits 24 inches off the ground

our deck furniture ... you can't even SEE the chairs!

a little bit of cuteness in the form of our neighbor's dog Charlie ... he's
walking in a shoveled path in the street (but know that the snowplow
ALREADY came through our town after about two feet of snow fell)

So how much snow did y'all get? I promise it's okay to tell me. At least, now that the shoveling is done.

Oh my word. My in-laws are sooooo glad they spend winters in FL! They live south of you by just a smidge and they got 34" there. . . .

We got about 15" - I'll be posting some fun pics of Li'l E trying to navigate the unshoveled parts. She had a blast and was SO. STINKIN'. MAAAAAAAD. when Shaggy brought her in. Poor thing - she did not enjoy watching the biggun's from the window :(

I stayed in all day and cooked. Soup, homemade bread, Chinese banana pudding, and so on. More cookin' tomorrow - low brow football food this time! I was really hoping church would be cancelled but it's not likely. :( Does that make me a heathen? Or just a mommy who is loving the hibernation?

After watching the "hype news" last night, I thought for sure we'd wake up to SOMETHING...nope...nada...not a flake, not a flurry, not even a raindrop.

GIRL....does this REALLY mean yet ANOTHER snow day on Monday for the "T"??!!??

I think our official total is somewhere around 20 inches or so. No snow blower here...Hubby and I did the shoveling. Madeline brushed off our cars and threw snowballs at us *grin*

We got a whopping ZERO inches of snow here. AND, it was 58 degrees with a sun-filled, cloudless, blue Texas sky.

Yah... I know... that was mean of me. But, you asked and that's the truth!

Just think how good summer is gonna feel this year. LOL

Stay warm!

oh my gosh, TM!!!!!! That is just incredible!!! Hate to tell you, but yet again, we got rain, no snow. Keep warm! YIKES!!!

You really ought to consider moving to the midwest. This climate change thing seems to have reversed our winters;) We got no snow today - nadda, zip, zilch. It was sunny and gorgeous. Of course I think it was only our third day of sun in the last 3 weeks, but hey - I don't have 34 inches of snow in my drive!
Look on the bright side. You won't have to worry about the kids playin in the nasty that was on the end of your driveway - for at least what 2 days...until it reappears:)

It's seriously shocking...in a crazy lovely kind of way. Keep the pictures coming. It's more fun than the weather channel.

shut the front door! Thats alot of snow!!! That is like the snow of my youth....and the reason why I couldn't move south fast enough!! Good God girl.....I would be totally freaking out!! You have snow pants and boots right???

We got 28 inches, and unfortunately we do not own a snowblower. Instead, we hired some guys to help us clear the first 20 inches or so. The rest will be cleared tomorrow morning, now that snow has finally ended.

No snow here, thank goodness. It looks like you got yours, mine, and everyone else's, too. I think you should get a great big mold that looks like the terracotta soldiers and start mass producing them. I'm pretty sure you'd end up on the national news, though, and you'd no longer be incognito....

I meant out of snow - seeing as you have enough to make a whole army of snowman warriors.

I actually think you have more snow than we have! Wow!

We're in Alabama. No snow here. It is cold, though.

I grew up in WV and we never had that much snow that I can remember. I can't imagine!

No snow. No rain. Just sunny skies and COLD air. I'd rather have the snow than the cold, personally.

But spring is coming - we've had birds singing outside our windows every day this week!

Awesome! I love it and am so jealous. Yes, I'm weird, but I grew up in the Northest and winter was always my favorite season, especially with a snowstorm.

I remember when I was a kid, and we'd get these big storms, my Dad used to turn on the floodlights at night and we'd shovel the first 'batch'. I loved being out there in the quiet dark, shoveling.

Now I live in Arizona. Boo. I'll have to live vicariously through you. Keep the pictures coming!

WOW!!!! That's some snow!!!! It snowed here, but maybe half of an inch to an inch on the grassy areas, the streets were pretty clean.

WOW! And that's going to take a while to disappear...

We've been thinking of you. We were in DC for the Blizzard of '96 and thought THAT was interesting. Wow, you guys really got dumped on.

Sending warm thoughts and hot cocoa wishes your way ...

I'm not amused. We're visiting DC this weekend and you just HAD to get a bunch of snow. Way to go. Thanks a lot. Sheesh. Don't you know we come for the balmy climate?

You have way more snow than we do, actually. We only have a measly few inches -- maybe 4 or 5, but it's snow from two weeks ago so it's tamped down in the paths and brown along the roads.... ugly mid-winter snow. It's been wicked cold, and I'm ready for some southern sun! so GET CRACKING!

Oh that snow?! Pshaw...that's just a wee bit of snow, just a dusting really. You should see the snow HERE!!!! Now we have snow...so much snow that...

oh...wait, snow is that white stuff right?

yeah...umm, well, we got rain and the temps dipped down into the 40's overnight. :)

In 1993 we lived through that kind of storm, be aware, we were our of school for a week and no power for 72 hours.

We just had the 21-22 " our house didn't get the drifts...we are protected by trees.
Now they are predicting more for Tues :^(

Chelsea Gour said...

NONE! Not one stinkin' flake. We never get the snow....just cold, muddy rain!

Flamingo Mama said...

wow! that is some serious snow. we only got about 20" :) i just love being snowed in though!

Krista said...

Close to 30 inches here. They've plowed our parking lot and the piles are amazing (maybe 6 feet tall). It's so weird to look out the window and see SO MUCH SNOW.

Cheri said...

Wow, that is a ton of snow girl! We didn't even get a flake. It was sunny here all day. You've def. had more snow than us this year! ;)
