Thankful For...

I think we all remember the "I'm Thankful For..." feathers we did during our school days. But - in case you've forgotten - here's a look at Ms. Confetti's classroom gratitude turkey.

It's so heart-warming and precious to read about all of the people and things that the children feel thankful for. They expressed their gratitude for their parents... for God... for the Thanksgiving holidays... for siblings and friends... their grandparents... and for having enough food to eat and a home to live in.

And then there was the Tongginator...

What a turkey.

haaaahahahahahahahaaa!! Yes! I love it.

G always gives the 'right' answer, and then tacks on something random and quirky at the end. Like, "I'm thankful for God and my delightful parents. And creamy peanut butter. And the screwdriver, because I get to take apart my toys and imagine I'm an inventor where I have to get the magic potion that turns the poison turkey into the good turkey so that the family won't die when they eat it."

Huh?

The Husband and I *love* to read all the child-generated answers on the walls at elementary schools. It's one of our favorite pasttimes. (Did I mention that we live in the sticks?)

I'm so glad Little T's kittie has a cute little head instead of a bug ugly one:)
Amelia is always thankful for her stuffed animals. We can try, but they have minds of their own...wouldn't want it any other way:)

Little punk :) Ernie said "thank you for the CD player" in her prayer this morning.

At least the kids are always sincere! :)

Awwwww...that's just precious. I'd love to see a picture your sweet kitty.

PS. We've had a wicked week. My MIL's heart is failing (my husband is across the state with her) and I'm feeling like we really need to embrace the idea of family.

Would you expect anything less from your own daughter. She follows her own drummer......actually she IS a drummer.

LOVE it.

And, for probably COMPLETELY different reasons, I'm thankful for my Siu Jeun and his SMALL HEAD, too. Heh.

That's great!!! I love it.

Makes me think of when I did a similar activity with the kids last year. Charlotte was thankful for Care Bears and candy, etc. You can tell what's important in our family!

LOL! Last year Josie's feather had me hanging my head low... all the other kids had said something like my Mom, my sister, my grandparents...my dad having a job... But Josie said "I'm thankful for Candy! Halloween Candy!!" Seesh

Then on the day I sat in for observation, and the class said a pray for the child who was out sick, Josie pipes up and says "I want to say a prayer for my princess dolls." When the teachers questioned her about why (she thought that maybe Josie thought her dolls here sick or hurt)... Josie added "No, I just want MORE princesses dolls. So if we say a prayer maybe I can get more." Yep, I wanted to disappear.
