And the giggling? Is not a sound I will soon forget.
a closer look at the quilt's four corners, clockwise from upperleft: He2, meaning peace and harmony; Ai4, meaning love
and affection; Zhi4, meaning wisdom and knowledge; and
Fu2, meaning luck and good fortune
two of the Tongginator's favorite squares, given to her by the FishFamily (fabric chosen for obvious reasons) and the Tongginator's
godparents (fabric chosen because we received the Tongginator's
adoption referral just two weeks before Christmas; plus, this family
decorates their house for Christmas with Peanuts characters)
The Tongginator is still cherishing her quilt four days later. And so am I. My mother-in-law? Is an amazing quilter. What a keepsake this will be.

I never even thought of doing something like this during our wait. It's something to cherish for a lifetime. It truly is beautiful!
That is such a special quilt. My mother is a talented seamstress/quilter and I didn't inherit that gene at all. What a lovely keepsake.
Yep, that is beautiful. I did Little T's quilt myself, just have to bind the edges. MIL's are good for something!
Hugs,
Carla
It is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! Can't wait to see it close up. Have you read the wishes to the Tongginator yet?
What a beautiful quilt! My grandmother made me a quilt... I wonder now if there is any significance to that beyond her loving to sew things. Regardless, it's something I'll always treasure. J and Z use it every now and then. :)
So this BEAUTIFUL quilt perhaps gives me the inspiration to pull Kylie's quilt squares out of storage and find someone to create a treasure as well. Does the Togginator's Nanny hire out?
So beautiful.
Hopefully, this cancels out some of the "difficultness." Maybe??? LOL
Blessings!
That quilt is AWESOME! I love all the colors and the background! Nanny did an amazing job...something to treasure forever!
What a keepsake for the Tongginator! Gorgeous colors and pattern...
I still have the pieces for Will's up in his closet...maybe I'll get it made (not me making it) one of these days. ;)
Beautiful!!!!
katie's is still in a box, in pieces. ;)
Ain't that something - wow - a gift that will last a lifetime!
hugs - aus and co.
You've inspired me -- I'll have to pull out Zoe's and Maya's quilts (made by my mom since I possess ZERO sewing talent!) and post them on my blog!
T's quilt is gorgeous!
Wow!!! Just beautiful!! What an amazing keepsake for the Tongginator!!!
Now this is something that needs to move up the ladder on my to-do list! I'm going to start asking some of my quilter friends. I may direct them to this post as an example of a finished product:)
Just beautiful...I love how she incorporated Chinese characters - I'm thinking her Chinese name in the middle might be lovely too:)
So beautiful!! The Tongginator will treasure that for a lifetime!
Lovely! I love your MIL. :)
Just discovered your blog a few days ago. Thanks for all the thinking you've made me do. I appreciate it (really!).
Wow!! It's absolutely beautiful. I love the characters in the corners. Your MIL did such a fantastic job!!
Wow, gorgeous!!!
beautiful in so many ways. tell us more about the concept of the quilt.
or I could click on the link. . . : )
Such a beautiful quilt! Shortly after Sera came home, my co-workers hosted a shower for me. One of the guidance counselors here is a master quilter. Her gift to me was to make Sera's. She knew that I had been exchanging squares & was completely intimidated by the idea of making the quilt myself. It turned out beautifully. It is something that I treasure now, & I know Sera will when she understands it some day.
That is amazing! What a beautiful treasure. So full of love and made with love.
What a wonderful gift for your little miss- a lot of love must have gone into that quilt!!
Just beautiful! What a precious gift.

It is beautiful!! What a treasure! I have not done this for our daughters and yes I am feeling the guilt big time...
Just so you know you may be my new idol! I can't believe your books are so organized- so impressive! I try to organize mine and the kids carry them around and who knows where they get left?
Blessings to you!
How wonderful!!!!! (And I bet your MIL was RELIEVED when Miss T. liked the quilt so much. Heh. That's a LOT of work to put into something...and if the child doesn't like it? Oh, the sadness...)
WOW! Wow! wow! LOVE IT! It's beautiful! I have all the material and wishes for Josie's quilt stored away in a big Rubbermaid bin. I really need to get busy and make the quilt! If I wait another year or so, she'll be able to help me - make her own quilt - LOL!
Absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!! I can see why she loves it so!!
