Stuck on Her

Y'all, even when I'm sick and racked out on the couch, the Tongginator keeps me on my toes. (And thanks, y'all... yes, I'm getting better, thanks to Tonggu "there is no charge for awesomeness" Daddy and his most amazing sidekick Tongginator, some tea, a comfy couch and the ever-helpful Prednisone, Ondansetron and an anti-viral. Oh, and the OTC Mucinex.) Anyways, where was I?

Ah yes, the Tongginator and my toes.

Sunday evening, the Tongginator told me all about a beautiful picture she drew for me, that I could look at whenever I felt tired and yucky. Then she wanted to show it to me.

TONGGU MOMMA: Well, honey... can you bring it to Momma? Because I really don't feel very well.

TONGGINATOR: I would if I could, Momma, but I can't. You have to come and see it.

TONGGU MOMMA: (with slight unease) Umm... okay.

So I dragged my sorry rear off the couch and followed her downstairs. And that's when I spotted it. And it WAS beautiful, y'all, but...

TONGGINATOR
: Isn't it pretty, Momma? Does that make you feel better?

TONGGU MOMMA: Uh... yes, Tongginator. But what did you use to hang it on the wall? Did you use tape?

TONGGINATOR: Oh, no, Momma. I didn't use tape.

TONGGU MOMMA: That's good, but what...

TONGGINATOR: (interrupting) I couldn't find any tape, so I used glue instead.

Glue, y'all. She used GLUE. Good thing I'm so stuck on my little gal.

Memo to you: Hide the staple gun. ;)

Ah, that was so sweet of T!

Oh, glue is okay. It'll rub off. :) I am so "easy" about glue, because I have worse on my walls (scribblings from permanent markers, ballpens, fingerpaints, stickers...)

Glad to hear you're a tad better.

UGH! School glue, I hope and not Krazy Glue? Oh well...it's just a wall, right? At least you'll never misplace the lovely artwork as long as it's somewhat permanently attached to the wall.

Not only is she an artist but she's quick on her feet! That will come in very handy as she grows up.

Some people have to worry about locking gun safes. Y'all? Better think about one for the power tools. (lord knows I am!!)

That is adorable-lol

Oh my, what a sweet girl :) And I am duly impressed that you actually GOT UP in your condition!! What a mama you are... I'd have insisted she take a picture with my phone and bring it to me instead ;)
SO good to hear you're feeling a bit better, hope you're back on your feet (and able to combat all things involving glue stick) soon!!

Debbie said...

Oh no! That is one of those sweet things that will always make a good story and a good memory.

Oh no! I hope the glue is washable with a little TSP.

Stories like this is why I'm banishing all my husband's power tools and other renovation equipment to the garage.

I'm trembling...

What a sweetheart! Guess you need to put the glue up very high and in a locked cabinet! Bless her heart for wanting you to feel better! Hope you ARE feeling better!

That's kind of a sticky situation eh?

Oh my. And I complain about all the tape mine steals. No more. Locking up the glue.

Ar least it was just one piece of paper. My friend has a son that is obsessed with showing off his artwork. He has glued papers to the walls and celing of his bedroom. Good times.

I hope that you feel better soon. I know EXACTLY how you feel. I am still sick. Boo!!

Umm....not crazy glue, I hope!

With Dahlia, I never had to even think about markings or anything. Infact, her hands never went anywhere they weren't suppose. So I was lulled into this dizzy sense of security but have been quickly jolted out of it with Milana. She is everywhere.....EVERYWHERE, I tell ya! (Time to wake up.)

Oh my goodness. :) What a resourceful girl she is. LOL A fun story.
I hope you will feel better very, very soon TM.

Hope you're feeling better. Scissors, glue, what's next for the mini Martha of your house?

Kristi said...

Makes me glad that my kids are still small enough that I can get away with keeping the glue "up high."
Keep up the recovery!

Well, it was a sweet thought!

I'll send you an e-mail today. Feel better soon!!!

Oh my! You know, it seems like every other day my own kiddos teach me something new. Like that rubber bands should be kept on the top shelf. Or that spatulas are really weapons of mass destruction. Who knew?

Resourceful little tykes, aren't they?

Holly said...

Hope it was school glue. If so, dampen with water and wipe clean :)
If not, well....perhaps it will come into high fashion to have elementary art glued to the wall. Hey, stranger things have happened!

Suzie said...

Not only is she sweet, but apparently very resourceful!! Glad to hear you are finally on the mend.

Rachel@just another day in paradise said...

oh no. I totally saw it coming, but I still had to lol! As for being sick, hope you are back to normal soon! As for T's consitution, my son was like that. He had ear infection after ear infection when he was little. The only way I ever knew he had one was by watching how he played (or fought) with other kids. When his ears were good, he was good. When his ears were yucky, he was tempermental and didn't play well with others. . .and I'm a speech-language pathologist. I should have been able to tell. . .Kids are just tough little buggars. : )

Oh where oh where did you get the totally awesome global, round the world, alphabet by cities that is on the T's wall? I must. have. one or my name's not thegypsymama!

So moral of the story is to hide the glue!! LOL! Very sweet girl trying to make you feel better.

She is a sweetie....and you can't blame her for trying to hang it herself:)

Note to self, in addition to the scissors, hide the glue:)

Glad to see that you have not lost your sense of humor!!

Classic! This is classic! You must, must, must save this story in the file marked, Wedding Day. :) I hope you got over the shock and giggled at least a little bit. (Psst! Did you get it off?)

And that's why the glue, scissors, markers, crayons, and playdough are in a very tall cabinet at my house.

Donna said...

Ha! I have Lionel Richie's "Stuck on you" playing in my head right after reading this too!

I remember a similar incident from my son's childhood. He was 3 years old and very proud to take me by the hand and walk me to his "beautiful picture". When we got there, I didn't see anything but then my eyes refocused and I noticed a HUGE yellow "M" drawn directly on the wall with a yellow highlighter. He smiled and said "McDonalds!"

My only regret was that I had to leave it behind when we moved.

O love the A-Z world cities chart.... where can you buy one? it's fab!!!!

a Tonggu Momma said...

Meadow, someone else asked me that... and we totally remember, but now the cost is over double the price that we paid (I guess it got popular - heh), so I feel embarrassed. Anyways, we found it on-line at "Land of Nod." Still love it though!
