Mommarazzi Fail

This past weekend, I spent quite a bit of time pretending to be an oh-so-talented member of the mommarazzi while we visited my Aunt P and Uncle C at their gorgeous house on an equally gorgeous lake. The scenery was perfect. The camera was perfect. The photographer was... well... not so perfect, but definitely learning and improving all of the time. There existed only one small, 42-inch problem.

The Tongginator felt not even the slightest urge to model. (Which is totally shocking, I know.)

She withstood the torture for as long as she felt like it could, but our short sessions did not exactly yield fantabulous results. Especially since I think perhaps I might possibly have fallen down on one particular momma job that is rather important... namely, a little lesson I like to call "Sitting and Standing Like a Lady."

although I DO love this shot

and the Tongginator ROCKS in this photo

but I have Absolutely No Idea
WHAT
is going on in THIS one

I won't be pulling out the scarves and books during Formal Torture Posture Lessons anytime soon, but I think it might possibly be time to have a little talk about modesty. And she wonders why I forced strongly encouraged her to wear capris instead of a dress that day.

She's just upset that she couldn't model while wearing a "Hardon super collider, the world's largest particle accelerator" t-shirt. I would be too, you know.

What's wrong with the casual sprawl? BTW, I would like a copy of the pic on the logs.

Snort! She is still adorable though. I feel your pain. Did you see my kid on her tricycle? Modesty is very overrated.

Haha, yes - modesty is INDEED a tough one to teach! (As I write this, I'm sitting cross-legged on the floor in boxers and a t-shirt, slumped over and typing. Heh. Great role model, eh?)

too funny! I have to insist that my girls wears shorts with most of their dresses, too. Not too much modesty going on over here, either. : )

Darling outfit and I love the photo shoot with detailed description. Have a super Monday. I'm in denial that I'm back to work...shhh don't tell anyone that I'm blogging in my office.

Why is it that I leave your posts laughing so hard that I must run to the bathroom EVERY time! You crack me up! You must be a ball to hang out with!

Modesty? Not a word that is used in this house too much. Had to tell hubby that if he wants to use the bathroom in private he'd better lock the door. And Little T? oh,she's not modest at all. In fact, she'll drop her pants in an instant and shake her little butt for you. Guess it doesn't help that we all crack up when she does it?!

Hugs,
Carla

Yet another "Oh I am so glad I have boys" moment.
LOVED the log photo though.

LOL! I understand your pain. Miss H perfers not to wear her panties. She'll be laying on the floor and up go the legs and it's like, surprise, hello! Of course her brothers just give me the look of, "Mom will you do something about this."

If we could all be so free spirited, then again, maybe not.

Classic! When our younger Girly Girl was 2.5 we participated in an extended family portrait taken at a beautiful location by a very $ photographer. As the photographer got ready for the shot, she threw her dress up and sprawled her (thankfully tights clad) legs wide open. When we tried to reposition her she screamed at the top of her lungs "I want my dress up and my legs open!" Not waht you ever want to hear from your daughter!!

This reminds me of something a photographer friend of mine said once. Something about catching your child in their less-than-perfect moments at times leads to some of your most precious pictures down the road. Which is why, mean mommy that I am, I took a picture of Isa crying yesterday.

What? I already had camera in hand. It's not like I left her crying to go *get* the camera. And it wasn't like she was *really* crying. (See I'm still justifying. I am a little traumatized, but apparently I'm going to LOVE the picture in 3-5 years....)

Love the log picture!

Oh my word, that is too funny and PRECISELY the reason my girls have to wear shorts under their dresses. The whole "sit like a girl" thing takes a while for them to catch on to, and mine at 9 and 6 are still working on it. :)

Your pics are actually quite nice though, they're composed perfectly. You did a great job not cutting off one of those protruding legs. *snort*

Have a great week, TM!

The first photo is fabulous in every way. You just won't appreciate until about 20 years from now when you're adding it to her wedding rehearsal those-were-the-days video. ;-)

Oh -- she's a cutie no matter what her pose!!

Maybe she just wanted to show off her lack of panty lines? At least she will wear a shirt! R has decided she is a character on The Fresh Beat Band who happens to be a boy. So, she prefers to go shirtless these days. Posture lessons are the LEAST of our issues around here. Ha.

heee heeee. so very cute. take comfort in the fact that you captured the "real" Tonginator. She's just saving you the pretense :)

I think I've just got to come visit, or you have to come visit me. ;)

and OH taking photos of your own kids is one of the hardest things to do. Thus, why I like trading "sessions" with my other friends.

Shorts with skirts, leggings with dresses...keeping those undies covered is a TOUGH job in the summer! (And, umm...remembering to WEAR undies is tough too, sometimes. Apparently.)

I still think she looks cute. So there.

At least she's wearing pants and not a dress to show off her panties to the world like my daughter would. I'm thinking she'll only model when she is wearing an outfit she picked out (princess attire and wings).

Amelia has NO concept of modesty. My friend, her daughter and two sons were here and she went in the bathroom right off the kitchen where we were all standing and climbed up on the toilet - DOOR OPEN of course.

Most kids won't pose for their own parents -- just normal:) I LOVE these shots and agree they will be GREAT in a wedding video - or on her High School graduation board.

Failed? Not even close!

LOL! Reminds me of almost every photo of myself as a child.

I think she looks adorable in all of them.

Modesty? Tongginators are supposed to know about that? :-) Being a PK, we usually are sitting on the front pew at church, and our girl manages to flash the choir at least once a service.

Love it!! Trust me, there are plenty of non-ladylike outtakes for any and all photo shoots that I do!! Apparently, it's like mother/like daughter. My mother reminds me I wasn't much of a Miss Grace when I was a child either.

LOL Love it! Oh, I think she did just fine! And guess what? We favor scooters in this house for the very same reason. :) We lika those skirts with the added layer of shorts tucked underneath for those playground and less than girly moments!

So sweet!

Casual Sprawl?! Oh, TGrammy, you just crack me UP!

Hmmm, I wonder where TM and Little T get it from!
