Miss T Meets Prince Charming... Maybe
On Memorial Day, my cousin Cinderella visited Tonggu House with her boyfriend, whom we hope will eventually be known as Prince Charming.
My momma, whose birthday was yesterday (so say happy birthday to Tonggu Grammy, y'all), didn't know about the visit until just now, so expect some sort of sputtering comment from her. We shall ignore her bluster, however, since yesterday WAS her birthday. She totally deserves an off-key rendition of a certain song rather than a reprimand. Oh, and she only lives an hour away from Tonggu House, so I probably should have told her that her niece dropped in to say hello.
All the way from Boston. Ahem.
Back to Cinderella's visit... The Tongginator fell in love with the man whom we hope will soon be known as Prince Charming. Mostly because he allowed her to place a tiara on his head. He also brought her the book Make Way For Ducklings. Oh, and he danced with her.

He's only 25. If that doesn't say Prince Charming, I don't know what does.
Cinderella also told me that her boyfriend emptied two wood chips out of his pocket just before driving away from Tonggu House. When she asked him about those mysterious wood chips, he told her about his Super Secret conversation with the Tongginator...
TONGGINATOR: Why are you wearing socks with your sandals? You're not supposed to wear socks with your sandals!!!!
GUY WE HOPE WILL SOON BE PRINCE CHARMING: Shh... that's supposed to be a secret.
(the Tongginator ran to a nearby flower bed and picked up two wood chips, then ran back to him and snuck them into his pocket)
GUY WE HOPE WILL SOON BE PRINCE CHARMING: Why did you give me these wood chips?
TONGGINATOR: Shh... it's supposed to be a secret.

We SO enjoyed seeing you both, Cinderella. We hope we might hear about a happily ever after at some point. Because he totally received the Tongginator Stamp of Approval.
And that's hard to do.

she cracks me up.
i swear she gets her lightning fast wit from you.
Sounds like a keeper!
Sounds like Cinderella has extremely good taste!
Aww...winning the heart of Miss T makes him a DEFINITE keeper!!
Little girls falling in love with handsome princes...so sweet!! My oldest keeps a small yellow teddy bear on the dash of his truck...given to him by his girlfriend's 4 yr old sister who has him wrapped around her tiny finger.
Oh!! And HAPPY BIRTHDAY TONGGU GRAMMY!! Sorry you didn't get a visit from Cinderella & her prince.
What a cute couple!! He does sound like Prince Charming!
Hope Tonggu Granny had a great b-day!

Cinderella has good taste!! I hope that it works out for them--they are a really cute couple!!
A man who dances with little girls and lets them put a tiara on his head and wood chips in his pocket = KEEPER!
Hope you'll have a Prince Charming in the family soon. :)
I'm giggling.......
Ah, no pressure Prince Charming :) No pressure at all...!
(Happy Birthday, Tonggu Grandma- hope it was a nice one!)
Cute couple, and adorable photo of Prince Charming dancing with the Tongginator. So sweet.
Happy birthday, T-Grammy!
Happy birthday to Tonggu Grammy!!!
As for Prince Charming... is it possible I can be a sugar momma?
That Tongginator, she's too funny.
Oh, to be 24!!!
Oh, first crush. So sweet!! He looks and acts like a Prince Charming, that's for sure!
Consider this VERY LOUD sputtering!!! Can't believe I wasn't told and missed the visit. I would gladly have driven the 1 1/2 hours just to see Cinderella and Prince Charming. I'm not even going to call him the hopefully eventual Prince Charming. He is DEFINITELY Prince Charming if for no other reason than he has charmed Princess Butterfly. Cinderella, I am sorry I missed seeing you and I'm thinking good thoughts about this Prince Charming stuff.
Oh, and thank you to everyone for the birthday greetings. I had a wonderful day beginning to pack up my classroom.
Tee hee. How sweet.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TONGGU GRANDMA!!!!
What a precious royal couple! Think of the magic glitter dust that would arise if the Tongginator was asked to be a...gasp...flower girl!
Happy B-day T.Grammy!
Happy Birthday Tonggu Grammy!
With the Tongginator stamp of approval, he is already family. ;)
Happy Birthday Tonggu Grammy - Packing the classroom? Is it retirement - or perhaps just a move to a bigger better classroom?
I love how Princess Butterfly took to Prince Charming.
I love to see Amelia with my nieces boyfriends. My niece is dating a young man who was talked into playing Twister, we suggested he be the spinner:) As well as taking Amelia to the pond down the street from my sister's. Amelia STILL talks about him a full year later! He's a keeper too:)
Okay, any guy who would willingly dance with a 5 year old girl, keep super secret woodchips, and wear a tiara...NOT to mention bring a gift for said 5 year old...yep, definitely a KEEPER! :)
He sounds wonderful Cinderella!
and HAPPY BIRTHDAY Tonggu Grammy!!!
What a "charming" post. The Togginator has quite an imagination, love your descriptive conversations with her.

He totally looks like Prince Charming too!! But who is that girl he is with?????
and I'm so guilty of socks with sandals. But oh did I get flack my first year teaching for this fashion-faux-pas by my HS students.
Your little one has your sense of humour!!! And "guy we hope will soon be prince charming" sure is cute!!!
