Prayers Needed

I need to share two things. One seems so small and insignificant compared with the other, but it does explain my silence and absence from the blogosphere these past few days. The Tongginator is sick. It's just an achy, cold sick, but she's pretty miserable. Usually she's The Most Amazing Sick Person Ever because all she wants to do is sleep. Well... that's still the case, only this time she's morphed into a limpet, unable to rest without latching herself to me. Which of course results in some amazingly wonderful cuddle time, but also explains the e-mails piling up in my inbox and posts accumulating in my Google Reader.

Just so y'all know: I must confess that I plan to keep ignoring all of it until she feels better. I'll probably even click "Mark All As Read." And I won't feel guilty about it.

As for the more serious topic, a little gal in Tonggu County (the Tongginator's first home) suffered third degree burns on her face and body this past weekend when her bedding caught fire in her foster home. She was scheduled to meet her adoptive parents two days ago, but instead they received a photograph and an explanation that they would be unable to adopt her, since this little gal will be too ill to travel for a long time. Please pray for this precious child, her devastated foster parents and also for the Canadian family who expected to hold her in their arms and protect her forever more.

I am at a loss for words over this. It breaks my heart.

That poor child. I can't even imagine what her adoptive parents are going through, not to mention (of course) the child as well.

I hope the Tongginator is feeling better soon.

So sorry you have a sick little girl! Hope she is better in a day or two.
I read about the baby who was burned and could not feel more helpless for the adopting family. So very sad; for everyone. Prayers said for her recovery.

Oh my. Such a tragedy. Will definitely be offering my prayers (and I have it on good authority, He listens and answers mine... coz she's asleep in her cot right now ;)

Hugs to Lil Tongginator, hope she recovers quickly.

PS. I'll let you in on a little secret - I've hit "mark all as read" several times in the last month... but don't tell anyone!!!

I am so sorry the Princess is not well. Enjoy the side benefits of extra snuggles and don't feel one bit guilty about ignorning your fans for a few days - that's the way it should be.

My heart is aching for all involved in the situation with the little one in Tonguu County. God wasn't surprise by these turn of events and He remains in control. I'll be praying!

Blessings!

I saw that on their blog - so sad for the child, the foster parents and her American family. Breaks my heart!

I hope your sweetie feels better soon. Little T is the same way - sleeps when sick but I can't move away from her.

Hugs,
Carla

I don't know if we could be of help in this situation at all, but with a facility near BJ and connections to the hospitals, we might be able to help somehow... we have zero burn experience. And we have a full house right now. But, know that we would try to help how we can...

Get well soon to the Tongginator!

I am also heartbroken about this precious little Tonggu girl. The SWI Yahoo group is looking for ways to possibly help with her medical care. From what I read earlier today, the family has received another child, but they are understandably still devastated over the situation.

Thanks so much for the correction, Alison. I changed it from American to Canadian on the post for those who don't read the comments.

I still can't imagine all that this family is going through. We've heard now (on the Tonggu Families SWI Yahoo! group) that they received a new referral, but how difficult it must feel now to greet a different daughter than the one they expected. There really are no words. They all need our prayers.

I have a sick little one, too. I hear you on the snuggle time.

I am so very sorry to hear about the little girl who was burned. I can't even imagine the pain that everyone concerned must be going through. It is truly heartbreaking. She will certainly be in my prayers.

When I visited Amelia's SWI in 2005 there was a little girl there with burns - it was THE hardest part of our visit there. She was not receiving adequate care and one of the dad's in our group was so heart broken over it he gave the director all the money he had on him for her care.
The moment I read this I saw visions of that little girl - and my heart went out to this little Tonggu Girl and the family that will certainly never forget her. My prayers are with them.

I certainly hope the little butterfly is up flying again soon too:)
