Where's the Car?

Last Tuesday night, my neighbor Apple called our house, concerned because she hadn't seen my car for a couple of days. She wanted to make sure we were alright because she didn't expect us to be out of town... AGAIN. Apple worried that another family emergency might have called us away.

And that's when I was able to share this with her:

It hadn't even occurred to her. Why? Because everyone in the neighborhood knows our garage looks like this:

At least... it USED to look like that, but then the Husband proved yet again that he is my Mr. Wonderful. I told Apple that the Husband spent the week of New Year's cleaning out the garage, just so that I could park my car in there. She heard what I said, but then she requested that I raise the garage door to show her.

For some strange reason, Apple required proof.

We have a carport, you know, one of those things with a roof over it? It's attached to the house but we never use it for our car - never have in the 18 years that we've lived here. I work at home and want dh to build an office where that carport stands. It's hard having your office in your bedroom - actually, it sucks!!

Anyways - how about having your dh call my dh and get him motivated????

Hugs!

Proof, TOO FUNNY!!!!! What a great neighbor to check on you!

hilarious and sweet at the same time... laughing hysterically here that she needed proof - way to go to the hubby

That is funny. Sadly, that is the kind of proof my friends would require of me as well, especially my mother. She would be astonished to see how organized the closets are in the house right now. I have been going through a decluttering/reorganization in preparation for the baby due in March.

HAHAHAHA...that's hilarious. Why on earth would Apple doubt you?! ;-)

Isn't it nice to have neighbors that notice whether or not your car is there?? Aunt SheShe is our neighbor like that. We're considering putting up some sort of SOS flag system if we're up in the middle of the night and need company. ;-)

HA! Now you can use the garage for what it is intended! What a great hubby you have!

What a nice neighbor and what a great husband. The garage looks great. My husband is a fanatic about keeping our cars in our garage even if that means the kids' bikes are outside (which they're not but the collection of outside toys is growing).

That is funny stuff! She really needed proof, huh?

We are building a house soon and it will have a garage. Hallelujah! It's no fun getting into a car that's -15 degrees inside.

Ah, the garage, that black hole. I can see why Apple needed the proof. Things go into black holes and never come back. I should know, our garage is is a black hole too!

Your husband is a good man ;)!

LOL! It's so good to have friends who keep us humble huh?

SNORT! It had been so long since your car had been in the garage that your neighbor needed proof, huh? Now that is hilarious!

Too funny....we are the opposite I guess...our house is a wreck but the garage isn't. When we moved in hubby insisted both cars get in the garage within two days...didn't seem to care that the house was a wreck!! I will say I love parking IN the garage...especially with kids or groceries : )

Can Mr. Wonderful be hired-out?!?! I have a few projects that could keep him busy - plus it's sunny and warm here in FL!

Funny story :o)

That is a hoot! I have a 2 stall but can only get 1 car in...my neighbor can't get either car in- recently I thought they were out of town, but turns out her husband went on a cleaning spree too:)

That's funny! Our shed looks like the before pic. Can't imagine if I had a garage.

hehehe!!! Geez... your "pre garage makeover" looks veeeerrrry familiar... although it is a tad tidier than my garage!!!

So the car is nice and toasty inside the garage now?!

How funny!!

No matter how big your garage is, there is never enough room....for some reason, that is the catch all place in our household!!

Oh, my goodness!! THANKS for the laugh, TM!!! This is hysterical!! hehehehe!!! I needed that!

Bwhahaha! We wanted a garage so much with our home (we have a carport) we actually considered turning the converted garage (living space) BACK into a garage! :)

PS: make sure to check out my new header :)

HA! I can only imagine the imagine of confusion that would settle upon my neighbors if I started parking in the garage.

What is it about garages? Show me yours again in one month:)

Tee hee. Love it. :-)

That is priceless! Our garage is awful right now, and the van is in the driveway. We are getting a new storage shed built in the back yard to solve some of our storage issues, but that is a story in itself--has taken somewhere around 4 months, just to get the shed built, and hopefully it will be finished this week.

Seriously funny stuff. What a good neighbor to check in on you though... and to require proof. I still need to figure out a way to buy into your Hood. Some serious love going around there!
