Letter to the Prez

Dear Mr. O'Rock Obama,

Hello. My name is the Tongginator. I am five years old... well, almost five anyway. I am so ex-ighted that you get to be President today. Happy Inaggeration Day!

And Mr. O'Rock, I wanted to tell you that something makes me feel sad. A long time ago no one ever thought you could be President. But now you are! And.. well... right now I can never be President because my momma and daddy adopted me from China when I was a baby. I became Merican just after I turned one. Someday I might want to be President, just like you. Can you maybe help me and all of my China cousins so that someday we might change histry, too? I know you might not be able to, but could you try?

Oh, and Mr. O'Rock? I told Santa this same thing. Work hard! And congratulations again.

From, the Tongginator

We've been playing What If over here...what if we moved to HK for a few years? What if we had a child there...they'd be eligible for dual citizenship. Lo Gung ruled that possibility out - he wants his children to have the opportunity to run for office if they want to.

Such a cute letter!

Does she really call him O'Rock? :)

You should have her dictate a letter to hin. I think it would be cute for one, and you can attach a petition on the bottom.

Oh my word!
That had me in tears!
I can almost see a movie in my mind of Miss T giving a speach at her graduation!

Lets hope he can speak for those who cannot speak for themselves!

Bless your week!

I do hope he honors her request.....I would love to see a nation ruled by The Tongginator!! I can see it now.....she will be wearing a nice navy blue suit, pink flip flops, and butterfly wings.....her image consultants would have a field day...LOL!! Oh, and I almost forgot the most important accessory......a headband...or will it be a tiara??

You need to send a copy of this letter to President O'Rock Obama. Maybe she'll get a letter back like you and KitKat did when you were kids. How busy can he (or at least his staff) be this soon after the "Inaggeration"? Love it, love it!!!!!

Absolutely adorable, both the letter and Miss T. Made me smile. :)

I think President O'Rock needs to hear from the Tongginator. I love the baby picture....it's screaming cuteness!!!!!!!!

What?
You have to be born in the US to be president?
There goes another dream of mine.

I too hope that Miss T will someday have the opportunity to govern.

All I can say Miss T... is NEVER EVER give up on your dreams cause you can do and be anything you desire... do not let anyone stand in your way!

I agree, I think the president needs to hear from miss T as well, this is priceless, I am sure someone will respond to her!
Lauren & Steve were watching the ceremony this morning and Steve told her they were going to Washington one day, she quickly informed him, not in that crowd! Pretty smart for a 4 year old:).

Hey, Little Tongginator-
You'd have my vote!
Almost 40 years ago to the date, Dr. Martin Luther King predicted that the 1st African-American President would happen in...you guessed it...40 years! While we, personally, are a right-winged and conservative family, there is no denying that today was historic beyond belief. Our family is super excited for the possibilities that lie in front of our country.
Now you stay warm up there in the DC Burbs...since I grew up (essentially) in Northern VA I know just how cold it can get! :-)

Mexican huh? Too funny - my oldest was called Chico all through highschool because of his dark color, black eyes, and black hair.

I hope he can bring about the changes that he has promised...

Hugs,
Carla

I love it! And agree with Grammy, you really need to send that letter in. It's priceless and as a daddy, he'd get it.

Cheers, happy Inaggeration Day!

sweet sweet, I think of that issue all the time.
Thanks for giving us a glimpse of that cute face today:)

How sweet!

I have been thinking lately that it just isn't fair that if we were to go to a foreign country and give birth to a child, that child COULD become President. Why can't a child we adopt have the same rights?

Miss Katie will sign the petition as well. :)

I was thinking about this very thing during his speech today. A few weeks ago my mom said something about Amelia being the president some day and my sister was quick to inform her that she was ineligible. My mom just said, well that will get changed. I think you need to send this to Mr. O'Rock

Okay.....I just spent my evening catching up on your amazing blog, TM, and I have three words for you....

You. Da. Bomb.

Seriously.

I don't know how you do it, girl. Put out quality blog day after day after long-livin'-day....I'm not worthy...I'm not worthy...(that's a Wayne's World thing, but you are probably too young to catch it :))...anyhow, so nice to spend some time livin' in your world for a bit. Keep it comin', TM.

Is it way too sappy sapperton to say, YOU MOVE ME? I'm moved. So if that's sappy, too bad.

I agree. Let's change that.

Hey, I've said it before. I think your T just may be a future president, so let's get this law changed, shall we? Go T, go!!

p.s. What a cute pic!!

I so hope you send this letter and we should all do the same. I side stepped some very difficult statements made by my 5 year old today too. And I would love to be able to confirm that she will be president some day.

Work on that, OK!
:) Hugs

Ok I love this. Please really do send it to him.
(Not that I doubt for a minute that he's not hip to the mom-blogger scene, but he's a little busy these days and might miss this post...)

Best letter. EVER.

I have a drawing my son made for the president. I'm totally going to send it.

and I have a bloggy friend (email me to find out who) who actually knows the president!!!

Now I'm inspired to have The Flash dictate a letter to go with his drawing.

I LOVE the Tongginator!!!!!!!!!!!
