I know, I know.
There is nothing you can say to make me feel worse than I already do. I'm just relieved that the Tongginator showed so much patience. If she took after her momma and her aunt KitKat, she'd have already given up and built her own Christmas tree out of Legos or Lincoln Logs.
Or possibly a couple of shoeboxes, games, a jewelry box and baskets. Oh, and a Rubik's Snake formed in the shape of a cross - acting as the tree topper.

I'd like to say that we worked so hard on this creation because my momma took too long putting up the Christmas tree one year. Unfortunately, I can't. Because this picture? My momma took it in the summer of 1982. Yes, y'all, I said the SUMMER.
Merry Christmas... in July.

Thats really funny! Did she have you girls put on the coats for effect?
I love that! It's PERFECT!
Thanks for making me smile!
that is a great pix of the oldies..how clever!
Growing up in the Bible-belt South, I can testify that Christmas in July is a real event. I've never seen one enacted with coats, however. Probably because some years we don't even wear coats for the December Christmas :)
the coats are a nice touch... but my fave part has to be the tree "trunk" that's a Barbie Corvette... I wanted one of those badly... I didn't have or want a Barbie, but the car was COOOOOl :)
I love Christmas in July!!!
I actually was thinking this picture was taken on Chrismtas Morning....thought that might be all the gifts Santa left!!
You are a riot....the jackets added just the right touch:)

LOL!! Let's just skip the clothing and move right along to two things in the background that I loved... the Snoopy lunchbox and the small little rubber Smurf figurine. I recently found a few of mine in a box.
LOL, were you roasting in that winter gear? funny post!
That's awesome and something my older two would do. Shhhh....don't give them any ideas!
The coats are cracking me up. You all were creative!
Love the picture...brings back memories...I so remember the Nike boxes like that and the coats....I have things up in my house but not like I usually do.....oh well....lol
Hahahahaha! I LOVE it. Man, some of those toys bring back memories. Good and bad. ;)
OK, may I just give Tonggu Grammy a little love here? I mean, you have more organized photos from your youth than anyone I know. The key word... organized. Oh, my mom has them alright, but I'd have to start digging through the drawers to get them. Tell TG thanks because your flashback photos always make me smile.
I always get a kick out of your childhood pictures!
Actually, Michele, I must thank the Colonel (my daddy) for this. Can you believe it? My momma did have them fairly organized, but a couple of years ago the Colonel scanned many of our childhood pictures and placed them on a photo CD. It was his Christmas gift to us. Isn't he amazing?
(How's that Daddy? Do you still need more photos? I know that you told your son-in-law just last night that I was falling behind in the Colonel photo department again.)
wow your daddy is amazing to have done that! What a wonderful gift.
On a sidenote from this post I want to say I admire your character and you deleting a post on your blog that you meant no harm with because you don't want to hurt someone else is indeed an honorable admirable gesture.
Hugs
Connie
We played a lot of church and library at my house, but I don't think we ever thought of playing Christmas...so you've been creative your entire life!
There is nothing wrong with pulling out your advent calendars late....you can eat a WHOLE BUNCH of the candies at once...:-)
Nice photo..! Merry Christmas..
My apologies to the Colonel for assuming it was TG. What a fantastic gift from your father! I think my memories of my youth would be very limited without being able to see photos of special times and events. That is a gift that will be treasured forever.
