The Tongginator recently informed me that she no longer plans to walk anywhere... not to the local playground, not around her classroom, not even inside her beloved local mall. I asked her how she planned to eat or play or - Lord help me - shop (yes, I resort to bribery... so shoot me). And she graciously informed me that she has A New Plan. The Tongginator decided yesterday that she's discovered a better way to traverse from here to there.
Do you remember that scene in Miss Congeniality where Sandy Bullock is learning to walk like a beauty queen and a NYC cabbie almost hits her? Sandy yells out, "Gliding! I'm gliding here!" That's the Tongginator now... only she's not gliding. She's found a new and improved way of traveling.
And... just so you know... I can call Sandra Bullock by her nickname Sandy since we are like that (fingers crossed) because she cheered in high school and I, Tonggu Momma, watch high school cheerleading competitions. I know - we are best friends because of this.
Now where was I?
(crickets chirping)
Oh, yes... the Tongginator and her new and improved method of movement. Unfortunately, y'all the Tongginator doesn't glide. I actually wish for gliding. Because the Tongginator? She flutters now.
Oh yes, she does.
She decided two days ago to crawl into a chrysalis before morphing into a butterfly. Which means she now flutters everywhere... around the house, at school, in public where strangers can see. When she isn't fluttering, she's flitting. Or possibly standing still. And she sleeps in her flower rather than her bed. Plus, she no longer answers to "the Tongginator." Oh, no.
Now others must call her "Butterfly."
The Tongginator's newest phrase might as well be: "Fluttering! I'm fluttering here!" I, however, have no words. But I'm sure y'all do...

Imagination at its best!!
I would expect nothing less from The Tongginator....I mean Butterfly!
Have fun flitting and fluttering around this weekend:)
Lisa
I can attest to the fact that I no longer have a daughter. To/from the restaurant last night ... she wore her "wings" on her head and fluttered back & forth & everywhere. She even fluttered with one wing in the parking lot since it's the "rule" to hold TM's hand in parking lots. It's very hard work to flutter with only one wing!
Wow! A butterfly - awesome choice.
In our home, we had a merboy.
What You don't know what that is? Well, you know what a mermaid is, right? Merboys are the male version. Now imagine my little (then) boy moving from point A to point B in that mode. Not the most proud stage for his daddy.
Laughing, I'm laughing here.
Well, if you can't beat her, maybe you should join her. Become the butterfly family!
Flutter on TM, Flutter on.
I LOVE your blog! I found it through Laurie’s post on Christianity (and I LOVED your response too). I will be a follower from now on :)
BWAHAHAHAHAHAAH.
"Wu Dip" (butterfly) is one of BBJ's favorite new words. I'll have to show her pictures of the Tongginator in her "wu dip" costume. ;-) She will be very impressed!
Could you call her a flutterby?
What a sweetie! At least it's better than a strut. My son struts now, like a miniature rapper.
Of course she is! I think it is a great choice for getting herself from Point A to Point B.
Why walk when you can flit?
I know a baby dolphin that likes to run the bases in imitation of her siblings. Up until a month or two ago said baby insisted she was a kitty and meowed to everyone. Aren't kids great.
Ms Butterfly! Glide away! She is an amazing young lady!
Priceless!
Be thankful for small blessings! At least she's flitting and sleeping in a flower. When my oldest was 4 he morphed into a Velociraptor...complete with fingers turned into claws on each "arm"...and he leapt on things, growling and squawking and snorting at people. He tore into his food and shook it back & forth. Yeah, he was a little weird. And in love with all things Jurassic Park.
Amazingly he grew up to be somewhat normal.
I just love her. Her mind is just an amazing place. These little stages kids go through just crack me up.
My son won't respond to anything but "Super Riley." On the plus side, I get to be the princess that he rescues from the mean and nasties (dad and sister).
I love her! She just oozes personality.
Give her some butterfly kisses from me. 'Kay?
Oh, what a wonderful imagination...don't ya love it?! Ella has an imagination like that and I think it is so fun! : )
Cute flutterby!
Keep smilin!
look at it this way... she is brightening the day of every person she flutters past. i know it would make me smile!
LOL! You never fail to make me laugh.
Tell the Butterfly that she is just as lovely as can be and that I appreciate that she fluttered and brought sunshine into Blogland via her Momma's post. So flutter-on!
Well, I think it's a lovely idea. I'm fluttering right along with her.....and besides, it's better than stomping around like a dinosaur, which is Adam's new thing.
Crazy cute!
I love that you can quote Miss Congeniality! Silly as it is, I LOVE that movie.
I like all of Sandy's movies --- my personal favorite being While You Were Sleeping - because like her charachter,I have a passport with no stamps in it.
Thanks for stopping by my blog - Loved your comment!
You do not offend. I love adoption stories because I am adopted too!
I also love my cousin Ruth's story. She married at age 40... died at 50 but LOVE LOVE LOVED her husband fiercely in those 10 years. She was amazing.
Thanks again,
Tammy
That's great!!! I love the image of your fluttering daughter. Aren't kids the best?
Fluttering is much for fun than walking any day!!!!!
well Butterfly is probably extremely cute fluttering and flitting around...much cuter than "Astronaut" was doing his Moon Walk through the store when he was her age. ;)
Please tell me you have this on video for pulling out to bless her with the showing of it during her High School graduation party.
This just made me laugh! Your Ms Tongu is so creative and adorable.
This is something deserving of a VIDEO clip!!!
That is TOO cute. My niece went through a phase a couple years ago when she was Hannah Montana. Try having a kid wear a blong plastic wig everywhere - YUCK. I'd much rather have a beautiful butterfly:)
hee hee, butterflies are awesome, they have strength, stamina, they fly for miles, they go through awesome transformations and emerge through struggles to be who God created them to be....
mmmm...i see a parallel to our girls
set free to be who they are meant to be...
You go lil Miss T.....you are on Gods special mission : )
we are so blessed to be part of it!!!

She is just too adorable! Such a free spirit! :)
Well, I am partial to butterflies... as you know. :) And I expect Miss Hu Die makes quite the beautiful little butterfly. Too sweet!!
Ahhhh....the world needs more sweet, beautiful, fluttering butterflies!! Flutter away, sweet Tongginator!
What an adorable flutterer!
How did i miss this?? Must have been during my blogging vacation that some might call writer's block. I love this post! Fluttering! Adorable. :0)
