Lazy Exhibitionist

The past five mornings in a row, I have run down two flights of stairs in my underwear, so that I can frantically grab an outfit hanging in the laundry room. I have absolutely no idea why I fail to cart these clothes up to my bedroom closet, especially since they've hung there, unwrinkled, for nearly a week.

Am I a poor planner? Am I lazy? Or just an exhibitionist?

Please, please tell me y'all do stuff you can't explain. I don't feel like a poor planner. I don't feel lazy. And the Husband will tell you I'm definitely not an exhibitionist. Which means I'm going downstairs right now to load up with laundry, so that I can lug it all upstairs to my closet.

I'm definitely doing it. Right now.

Okay, maybe.

Then again, maybe not.

I hate folding and putting away laundry. Every morning at 5:30 I can be found bent over a laundry basket of clean clothes digging for a shirt that's probably down near the bottom.

There's nothing dignified about stooping over a laundry basket.

Nothing.

But apparently embarrassment alone isn't enough to convince me to change my habits.

Has anyone seen my black pants...I know they're down here somewhere.

I am here via your comment over on Mary Mia's blog... & I am planning on Moon Pies next year over the universally unloved Moon Cakes!

As for the laundry? Well, as long as you don't have some sort of picture window in front of the stairs which overlooks an elementary school, I say, frolic in your underwear!

i vote forgetfulness.

Want to know why I had four kids?? Because they make terrific laundry-folders and put-awayers! Great source of cheap labor. When the Tongginator gets a little older you can have her haul things upstairs!

But you're still a closet exhibitionist!

You know what? I do the SAME thing! My laundry room is on the main floor and I hang my clothes up to dry... then after showering I think.. I need to go get some clothes and off I go!

Here is the funny thing, sometimes I foget to shut the curtains in my bedroom, Ill be in the shower and the phone rings.. I go get it, and well.. you would be proud t how fast I can drop and army crawl!

One more thing, I was thinking this morning that I would love to see a post about things you wish you had known before adopting, or something of the sort...as a new adoptive parent I'd love to hear some of your insights! Just a thought...

I don't mind doing, I don't even mind folding it.....but I hate putting it away! I always have piles of clean clothes stacked neatly in my laundry room!! You are not alone.....I have made a couple of those runs to the laundry room for a piece of clothing I want to wear!

I am blogging instead of folding the clothes that sit on my bed. So I am not thinking too much about them right now. I am worried about them a little though. I am, where am I going to take my nap. m

This has nothing to do with being naked, but I do stuff I can't explain all the time.
Like why have I had the bibs in the boys' room their entire lives. SO that I have to walk to their room and get one at the last second every meal, every day. Why not put them in the kitchen? Every time I think that I'll go move them, the computer blocks my path and I read blogs instead...

I think my theory on leaving the laundry hanging downstairs is...I'm gonna be wearing it soon. I'll just run down and get it when I need it instead of having to lug it upstairs. Makes perfect sense to me. Think of it as "running the bleachers". It's exercise!

Our laundry room is actually on the third floor which the only thing up there is our bedroom - I thought it was strange at first but now I love it - the problem is my son's clothes end up sitting at the top of our stairs needing to go down to his bedroom which never seems to happen - I find him often naked running up looking for underwear :)

The last two days I've run down in pants and a bra to get my shirts. Why don't I just grab all the hangers while I'm there?? It is a strange phenomena.

Funny! I have laundry all over the house in various stages of cleanliness right now.

On another note, I just read your moon pie comment on Mary Mia's blog. That was hilarious! Believe it or not, we've been home from China for 2 years, and I have yet to taste a mooncake. (We missed our FCC party this year.)

I do something similar. Except that with me, it's more about wanting to wear the same clothes two days in a row, so I am frantically stuffing things in the washer before bed at night and then transferring to the dryer first thing in the morning. Then I run down after my shower (in my skivvies) to get the sameasyesterday clothes from the dryer. It's not like I have no other clothes...

You rebel, you! I do something similar. I don't take towels with me to the bathroom for when I get out of the shower. I have OCD about cleanliness and I don't want to think that my towels touch anything contaminated and then touch me after the shower. So, I run to the linen closet after the shower.

Are you still my friend??? : )
Ha!

I do the same thing on a regular basis!!!

After dinner, I leave the food on the stove for whoever wanders in late- we have 3 teenagers- and I so often forget to finally put it away so I wake up to perfectly good food that is not spoiled! Ugh.

Have a good day!

I hope you're counting that as exercise!

I'm not friends with laundry right now... so so tired of the whole process.
