My Friend Otter

After raving about my childhood best friend Otter's daughter Mink last week, I thought I should further illustrate to you why Mink's appearance at the Junior Olympics seems such a miraculous feat. Truly, our amazement stems not from anything Mink did or did not do. Frankly, it deals with our amazement that my best bud Otter got it together enough to raise a child capable of accomplishing ANYTHING. You think I kid...

Well... actually I am joshing you a bit. The beer is her daddy's and unopened. And the cigarettes are those candy ones we all knew and loved in the 1980's.

But the tie... the tie is real, y'all.

Ah..the 80s. They say the fashions are making a comeback...maybe Otter can restart the 'tie with a sweater' look. :)
Actually I can remember I used to love to wear ties when the whole menswear trend was a big thing...and I loved those candy cigarettes! And bubble gum cigars.

Ah...candy cigarettes! My cousin got in major trouble posing his 2 yr old brother with those!

Otter looks totally awesome in her 80's fashions!

I am sure she loves showing this picture to her kids, I mean look at that sweater with the hearts on it with that tie! I am sure she is really embarrassed with this one. :)

Bubblegum cigarettes! Sticks of pastel colored bubblegum, wrapped in paper and they had some sort of powder coating that you could blow out of them like REAL smoke! Loooooved 'em!
Great pic too!!
'Bout the only thing I loved better back then than a sweater with hearts on it was my one with teddy bears AND rainbows knitted right in! :)

Can y'all believe that Otter used to love, love, love that sweater?

Probably because it was one of the few store-bought items hanging in her closet. Her momma sewed most every item in her wardrobe.

I loved those Candy cigarettes!

The heart trim on her sweater compliments the "bad girl" look so well. :)

She looks like a Bad News Bear.

I remember those bubble gum cigarettes. They even blew out a puff of powdered sugar smoke.
