Chapman Interviews

Steven Curtis Chapman, his wife Mary Beth and possibly even the Chapman children will appear on Good Morning America sometime this week, most probably on August 5th during the first hour of the show. This is the first major televised interview since the loss of their daughter and sister Maria.

The China-adoption community deeply grieved the loss of little Maria, who was just five years old when she was killed during a tragic automobile accident in the family's driveway on May 21. Maria was the youngest of six children, three of whom Steven and Mary Beth adopted from China.

The Chapmans hope that their GMA appearance and subsequent press interviews will be an opportunity to celebrate Maria's life and to share their Christian faith. Already over $500,000 dollars has been donated to Maria's Miracle Fund in memory of this amazing little girl. The Chapmans and the Shaohannah's Hope ministry thank all who reached out to them during this very sad time.

Steven Curtis Chapman will also appear solo on the Larry King Live show on August 7th. On August 8th, an article about the Chapman family will appear in People Magazine. Check Jim Houser's blog House Mix for updates and schedule changes. (Houser acts as SCC's manager.)

My heart breaks for them. They live in this area, and not that it matters, but when the story hit local news around here it did something to our community. Thanks for the info.
