The Fish Five

This weekend the Husband, the Tongginator and I traveled to visit some beloved friends... our partners-in-crime, the Fish Five.

The Husband and I met Mrs. Fish and her husband OneFish in the Detroit airport on our way to China to adopt the Tongginator. We immediately clicked as a foursome, not knowing at the time that their daughter, RedFish, and our daughter, the Tongginator, already knew one another quite well while in foster care within Tonggu County.

We became family.

It was a God Thing, y'all.

It's been three years, and they continue to be among our closest friends. We usually visit one another four to six times a year. It's been a while since our January shindig, due to a plethora of family illnesses and generally crazy schedules. Yet we always have a blast with one another, no matter how long it's been since our last visit.

So what ensued during our Weekend Wonderfulness?

Oreo Cookie Theft.

Dreadful Disco Dancing.

And Memories.

Long ago, the Husband and I agreed to avoid Tongginator face shots on the blog (although I'm mightily tempted because we took some Seriously Cute Shots of the Tongginator this weekend); however, Mrs. Fish and OneFish feel no such qualms about sharing with BloggyLand the beauty of their three daughters TwoFish, RedFish and BlueFish. So, in lieu of a witty post about our visit, I decided to instead Pimp Out the Fish gals.

Because I'm seriously tired after our weekend craziness.

And because I'm exploitative like that.

I am a Mommy Blogger, after all.

Aren't they gorgeous, y'all?

And yes, the Fish Five helped me recover from my recent adoption referral funk. Three days worth of LIDs referred this month? Who cares when we experienced nearly three days worth of fun and fellowship with members of our Red Thread family?

The timing couldn't have been more perfect.

It was a God thing, y'all.

Isn't our God great?! Giving us just what we need, when we need it. Glad to hear you were encouraged by your visit. The wait sure is long and hard. And yes, they sure are gorgeous girls!

Wonderful that you are so close and had a diversion from "waiting". Still in my prayers.
