雨水: Rain Water

The Ancient Chinese used 24 solar terms to identify important agricultural phases, since the lunar calendar fluctuated every year. Farmers found the solar terms more reliable when scheduling their planting and harvesting, since the lunar calendar changes with the moon phases year by year.

Today we entered China's second solar term, 雨水 (yu shui). This phrase translates as "rain water" and means that, from this point forward, rain is more likely to occur than snow in the coming months.

Let's hope so! Come on, spring! We are so ready to herald your arrival.
